28 - 29 September - The start of 24 hours (Hopefully)

28 - 29 September - The start of 24 hours (Hopefully) Went through the animatic, needed some tidying up as mislabeling was making it hard to sort files and scenes. All are now set up with a numerical order, making keeping track of my progress a lot easier. Ticking off shots as I go. A circle means I have that task done, a cross means that component is not required for that scene.

24 September - Exhibition 3 and other thoughts on the project

24 September - Exhibition 3 and other thoughts on the project While I have gotten the exhibition up, I can't help but feel that we REALLY didn't put our best foot forward. It just seems like there is less than there should be. I am just as guilty of this as everyone else, I had planned to have some draft animations to show, but none were ready to be shown.  Will just have to try make up for this during the final hand in. Made a quick plan for what I would like for the Flicks, will need to sort out spacing with Royce and the rest of the 2nd years. There is a lot I would like to put up and I'm not sure that is fair to others. After talking to Liam for a bit, I'm thinking it might be worth running the 2D at a lower frame rate, something a kin to what is done in the recently released "The Dragon Prince" Netflix series. This would save on time and assist on actually finishing the project. Currently looking at 12 frame a second, but that is up to rese...

2D animating - 12 September

Image
2D animating - 12 September I have been practicing 2D animation using Julia. Not much, just a simple head turn. I wanted to keep it simple so I wouldn't spend to much time on it. Focusing on the trying to make everything sync up and make the movement fell natural. I am also testing to see if the character is too complex and seeing what I might be able to change. Some quick images from the head turn are shown below. Base Planning Facial Planning  Line art planning Draft full line work Probably need to watch a few more tutorials. Things aren't too bad, but I would still like to improve it more.

September 2 to 4 - Rendering

September 2 to 4 - Rendering and practicing Did some rendering over the weekend After a bit of fiddling I got the wire frame texture working. The smoother parts of the mesh required a lot of polygons to prevent blockness. While this will make the renders a bit longer, I think I can afford it. Practice I have been practicing traditional 2D animation while I wait for renders. Watching tutorials by AMB academy and the likes had been helpful. Hopefully by the time all my renders are done I'll be back up to speed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLbqmyE8OvE Renders have failed me  Almost all the renders I set up on Monday evening have failed. It was suggested to me that it would be because of a problem on the other end. Might just be a case of trail and error. Pitching Found some interesting material on pitching and character arc/ journey types. While these would'nt help much with this project, they could help in the future. https://www.cartoonbrew.com/how...
