June 16 - Mapping and Modeling

Image
June 16 - Mapping Did a quick mapping exercise of the scenes in my story. Just trying to figure out where my camera will be so I know what I need to render and what I can get away with. Julia's Room seems to have the most camera angles and shots. Should look at putting most of my effort into making that scene. Scene 1: Julia's Room Scene 2: The Bridge Scene 3: Escape Pods Scene 4: Outdoors walkway Scene 5: Roof Fight

June 15 - Retrospective view Posters While I like the posters, I think there is a lot to improve on. Dean's poster is probably the worst as I don't feel that I didn't do the foreshortening right. Talked to De le ray brief, he thought I was going a bit over board on details. He might be right, but I'm basically finished at this point. Pretty happy so far, managed to cut a lot of the nonsense. Still a bit worried it is too long but I can fix that. Film type I have been watching a lot of video essays on YouTube about movies and storytelling. While watching videos from the "Just write" channel, I noticed the creator talking a lot about film type and the misuse of storytelling techniques. In a number of them, the creator mentions "Bathos", when a serious moment is undercut or made into a parody, and how that can ruin a serious film. After a bit on introspection about the story and tone of my project, I can say that while my film has a fair bit of bathos, that it doesn't harm the film as it is intended to be a lighthearted...
